Butterfly Days 2021

Butterfly Days at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is an enriching and memorable experience for all!   This field trip series features learning stations and child-centered activities on topics like monarchs, butterfly life-cycles, structures & functions of these insects and more.  Due to COVID-19, we are offering several options for schools this year: an in-person field trip, a hybrid experience and a virtual tour.

In-Person Option:

When:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday in September or early October 

Who:  Groups of 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders

Where:  Botanical Garden of the Ozarks (4703 N. Crossover Rd. Fayetteville AR) 

How much:  $40 per class 

Details:  Each session will feature three learning stations. BGO volunteers will be leading child-centered activities on topics like monarchs, butterfly life cycles, structures & functions of insects, and more. Lessons will align with Next Generation Science Standards.

Hybrid Option:

When: Almost anytime September through October 

Who:  Elementary students

Where: Both online AND at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

How much: Free

Details:  Students receive an introductory video and a free admission pass to the garden. Students can come as a group and do a self-guided audio tour or come individually with their parents. An audio tour, citizen science project, and all online materials are included. A virtual lesson and Q&A session with a butterfly gardener can also be arranged.

Virtual Option:

When: Anytime!

Who:  Elementary students

Where: Online

How much: Free 

Details:  Students receive a virtual tour of the garden video and other online resources. They can also receive a free admission pass to the garden so they can visit anytime.
