Reaching Parents: Teaching Feelings and Solving Problems

REACHing Parents is a series of 6 sessions targeted for families of young children. It includes FREE materials for home practice. The curriculum was developed by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is based on the “Pyramid Model for Supporting Social-Emotional Development and Reducing Challenging Behavior.”
The goal of this series is to:
1) Provide families with background information and concrete strategies to support children’s’ social-emotional development
2) Increase parent-teacher partnerships in teaching and scaffolding social-emotional skills for school and life success
Participants are welcome to attend whichever sessions interest them (one or all!). This series is for adults-only.

September 28: Teaching Feelings and Solving Problems
Families will learn strategies that teach children to express their feelings with words and to understand others have feelings too. You will also learn a specific set of steps to walk children through problem solving while activating their executive functioning skills.
