Saturday, February 26 | 1:00 – 3:00 pm
This family-oriented class will start with a short presentation about bird houses and bird species that will house near humans. Then we will break out the paint and get creative! Children are welcome and all the paint used will be washable acrylic paint. Tickets should be purchased per birdhouse. Additional guests are welcome to join in the creative process of one birdhouse with garden admission.
The birdhouses are locally sourced and handcrafted from cedar. These houses have proven to attract bluebirds that build a new nest every year. You’ll be able to watch the adult birds collect and build a nest inside and witness their babies hatch! Then, simply clean it out after the season to be used for years to come.
Once the birdhouses are painted, they will be placed in the sun to dry and coated with a waterproof finish, so the color holds up in the rain. While your birdhouse is drying, we encourage all class participants to enjoy the Garden! This class is not recommended for children under 4 years of age, but siblings are welcome.
Limit of four people per birdhouse. Families larger than four should purchase additional house(s).
Cost: $45 per birdhouse (Nonmembers must also pay garden admission)
