Butterfly Camp:   July 30th – August 3rd  |  9:00 am to 3:00 pm

For children ages 8-12 years old.  Explore butterflies and caterpillars and even eggs UP CLOSE! Use a hand lens to distinguish between different types of eggs. Study butterfly scales through a microscope! Examine which plants are best for pollinators. Be a scientist and participate in real data collection.  In this five-day camp, butterfly volunteers will lead campers through hand hands-on lessons, fun science projects, and various pollinator activities. Topics for study include habitat, life cycles, coloration and defense and butterfly behaviors.

Campers will leave with an appreciation for butterflies and other pollinators. All campers will also receive a caterpillar and caterpillar keeper/cage to raise at home! Campers can check in between 8:30-9:00 am and pick-up is between 3:00-3:30 pm. Students should bring a sack lunch.
