Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Rentals at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks
Are wedding ceremonies allowed at the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks?
Yes, ceremonies may be held at the Garden.
What is the maximum capacity of the Carl A. Totemeier Horticulture Center Event Hall and Tyson Terrace?
The Totemeier Event Hall alone can seat up to 90 people around 8-person round tables, and the Event Hall combined with the Terrace can accommodate up to 250.
What is the maximum capacity of the Rose Garden and Great Lawn?
The Rose Garden and Great Lawn can accommodate up to 800 people.
Are wedding ceremony rehearsals permitted the day before the event?
Rehearsal space is not guaranteed and will be provided if available. Space for rehearsals, when available, will be provided on a complimentary basis if held during operating hours.
Is a dressing room available to the bridal party?
A dressing room for the bride and her attendants is included in the rental fee.
Does the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks provide catering?
No, the Garden has a list of approved caterers. Please call our Director of Special Events at 479-750-2620 ext. 22 or view our catering list under the Rental page.
Can I provide my own alcohol for my reception?
Yes, you can provide your own alcohol; however, it must be served by your caterer or a private bartending service.
Does the garden provide tables and chairs?
Intents are the only provider of tents, tables and chairs at the Garden. The rental of these items is not included in the rental fee. Intents phone number is 479-751-2425.
Does the Garden require the use of specific vendors for photography, floral or entertainment?
Any florist, photographer, band or DJ is welcome to service your event at the Garden. Their contact information must be provided to the Garden Director of Special Events at least 30 days prior to the event. They will be required to follow all Garden policies.
Is the photography permit included in the rental fee?
When hosting a wedding reception and/or ceremony at the Garden, a photography permit fee is included for engagement and bridal portraits. Any area of the Garden may be used for photographs, but an appointment has to be made 48 hours in advance.
All photography guidelines must be followed.
If I rent the Event Hall and Terrace will my guests have access to the rest of the garden?
Yes, your guests can tour the whole garden. Your party is only happening in the Event Hall and Terrace.
Does the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks’ Events Coordinator act as a Wedding Coordinator?
No, the Assistant Director of Special Events is available for any rental service needs but does not act as a wedding coordinator. Garden staff will be onsite at each event.
What are the set up and tear down requirements at the Garden?
Set up begins when rental time starts. (However, Intents is allowed to deliver and set up the ceremony and reception before the rental time begins if space is available. Intents delivery and setup does not get counted against your rental time.) You must arrange for all props used in the ceremony and reception to be removed before the rental time ends. All props used in the event are subject to approval by the Garden staff.
How late can a rental can last?
11:00 pm is the latest a rental can last.
My rental time ends at 11:00 pm. Do I have time after that for tear down and clean up?
No. All clean up, tear down and removal of vendors’ equipment has to be done before 11:00 pm or when the rental time ends.
I am interested in renting the Garden and facilities – what’s the next step?
If you are interested in renting our facilities, please contact events@bgozarks.org to make an appointment for a tour and discuss the terms of a rental agreement. BGO will waive the Garden admission fee for up to four people to participate in a tour.
The Garden and our facilities are open and available for rental year-round, except on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Scheduling is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
